The Taiwanese Canadian Association of Canada (TCA Canada) has sent formal letters to key Canadian parliamentary leaders, including the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Official Opposition, and the Leader of the Bloc Québécois, expressing serious concern regarding the People’s Republic of China’s recent military exercises and coercive actions around Taiwan.

In the letters, the TCA Canada highlights the risks these actions pose to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, the potential for regional and global security implications, and the importance of upholding international law and the rules-based international order.

The correspondence urges Canadian leaders to publicly denounce coercive military actions, reaffirm support for peace and democracy, and work with like-minded partners to uphold international norms. The TCA Canada thanks those leaders who have already taken principled stances and encourages continued advocacy to ensure that Canada’s voice remains strong in support of democratic values and the protection of Taiwan’s sovereignty.

The full letters are available for public viewing, reflecting TCA Canada’s ongoing commitment to promoting awareness, dialogue, and constructive engagement on issues affecting Taiwan and Canadian foreign policy.
